Institute
The Research Institute for Religion and Society
The purpose of the institute is to conduct researches on the social and political roles and functions of religions, furthermore to share and disseminate its research findings both for the international and domestic academic environment, and make it available for the broader public, as well.
Among the research topics of the Institute one may find the analysis of the Christian roots of Western civilisation as well as of the social teaching scheme of various Christian churches and denominations. Furthermore, the academic topics cover the examination of the operations and importance of other world religions, including the global role and impact of Islam and other religions originating from Asia. Moreover, the Institute considers to be an increasingly significant and essential research areas to be dealt with the issue of persecution and discrimination on the ground of religious beliefs around the world, similarely to the analysis of the controversial, rather volatile nexus between various secular set of beliefs and religions. The insightful academic examination of the interference and relationship between major religions and the new types of technology-based challenges also constitute rather intriguing research fields for some fellows of the Institute.
