Zsolt CSUTAK

 

Zsolt Csutak is a PhD candidate at the Doctoral School of Military Science of the University of Public Service, Budapest and a researcher focusing primarily on American intellectual and political issues. In the center of his academic interests one may find disciplines like: international relations, transatlantic security studies, American intellectual history and history of religious and political ideas. He is keen on examining the various effects and interactions of postmodern secular, progressive ideas, trends and traditional religious political entities within the Western civilizational sphere. In his secondary though nonetheless important research area, Zsolt tends to focus on analysing the new types of cyber challenges as well as on examining their media manifestations and impact upon society and politics.

Zsolt graduated from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Szeged, Hungary, with majors in American and European Studies as well as in Political Theory. Besides, he also attended the local Faculty of Teacher of Reformed Religious Education of Debrecen Reformed Theological University at Szeged. During his post-graduate school management studies at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Zsolt had the chance to take part in a study field trip to TAMK University, Tampere in 2016 getting a deep and thorough insight into the famous vocational education and teacher’s training scheme of Finland. In the Fall of 2019 Zsolt was awarded with a Fulbright scholarship to the Intercultural Education Center of Kent State University, Ohio, USA, where he studied media literacy and the impact of various cyber threats on education.

Besides his intense activity as educator and researcher, he managed to travel extensively into more than 45 countries so far, from Canada through the Vatican to the West Bank, by various scholarships and study trips.

Zsolt has lectured and taken part in several scientific conferences in Hungary and abroad, too, also having dozens of different academic papers elaborated by him both in English and Hungarian.

In his research project conducted within the framework of Religion and Society Research Institute of the University of Public Service, Zsolt focuses on analysing the controversial nexus between the secular ideas, progressive trends and the religious beliefs and communities of the Western world. Furthermore, he tends to examine the impacts and challenges posed by transhumanism, machine-human interface and artificial intelligence upon the spiritual, intellectual realm of religions and denominations.
