Lilla BAUER
Lilla Bauer defended her PhD thesis at the Doctoral School of Political Science of Corvinus University, Budapest in 2014, following her studies conducted on public policies.
She obtained her graduate degree in Hungarian language and Philosophy from ELTE University, Budapest in 1987, and afterwards she pursued her doctoral studies in philosophy at ELTE between 1991-1992. At the Budapest University of Technology and Economics she also obtained her special degree from public school administration, furthermore along her position as civil servant she received a certificate of professional examination in public administration.
The two decades spent in secondary education and school management and in the social sector boosted her moticvation to pursue doctoral studies, as well. At present she is an adjunct professor at Lőrincz Lajos Department of Public Administration and Law of the University of Public Service, Budapest.
Before her academic career phase she also conducted several study field trips abroad: either as guest lecturer or as educational expert obtaining scholarships she had the opportnity to get deeper insights into the social and educational systems of Latvia, Poland, Italy, Iceland, Norway, Israel and Japan.
As a PhD student she had the privilege to join an international research project in public administration and state theory led by the globally acknowledged expert Geert Bouckaert at the Public Managament Institute, Leuven. As a lecturer of the University of Public Service, she held several lectures at foreign academic institutions, too. In 2016 she held courses at the Department of Public Policy and Management of Minsu University in Beijing, China, while in 2022 she also taught at Aegean University in Izmir, Turkey.
As a researcher she had the chance to indulge in the academic and research life in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at the Bloomington Campus of Indiana University, USA, for one academic term in 2017/18.
In 2022 she received a special request from the Religion and Society Research Institute: to join a sociological field research project focusing on the social cohesion power of charity activities carried out by religious, primarily Christian, communities.
She has three adult kids with three grand-children, and the time spent with them as well as with hiking in nature provide her the necessary energy booster.
